Uno, dos, tres, OLE!! Taco pizza, ON BUFFET!!!!

SOL hosted the women's college division during the Eau Claire Chillout this past weekend. Because of our amazing large numbers, we split into two squads to take on other the other women's teams. Saturday our ladies were up bright and early to set up the fields and get the games started. We had our kaBOOMbox charged and ready to pump us up.

On Saturday, SOL X played four games against Carleton, UW-Whitewater, Minnesota Duluth, and St. Ben's. SOL got their first look at former regional rival Carleton of the year. The game against UW Whitewater was a lot of fun. The Shist ladies are always up for a good game of ultimate. Minnesota Duluth was a little rough for SOL X, but our funtensity kicked in and we came away with a good win. St. Ben's had few subs but they still brought a lot of energy to the game. We gave them a good St. B-B-B-Benny and the Jets cheer! At the end of the day, the SOL X ladies had a record of 3-1. SOL Y played games against UW-Milwaukee, UW-Steven's Point, Minnesota, and Winona State. These ladies went 4-0.

On Sunday, SOL X started with a game against the Minnesota Ninjas. It was a challenging and fun game for both teams. We both brought a lot of intensity to try and win our way into the championship bracket. Minnesota held out for the win in the end. SOL X went on to play a good game with the Shist ladies, winning to land 5th place in the EC Chillout. SOL Y played Minnesota next. The game was similar to the previous round, but these SOL ladies pulled away with the win to go to the championship game against Carleton.

Mega SOL v. Carleton

Both SOL teams combined to form MEGA SOL for the game against Carleton. Carleton scored the first few points of the game. SOL soon responded with some sick D's and picked up points to follow and tie up the score. It was a Carleton score and SOL answer score game until Carleton pulled ahead at the half. SOL stepped up to play some sick ass defense, but Carleton got away with a win at the end. Mega SOL ended the day with 2nd place in the EC Chillout.

No Wisconsequences Twenty Ten

SOL traveled to Merton, WI for No Wisconsequences Twenty Ten last weekend. With a good mix of returners and newbies, it was a great weekend to learn each other's ultimate skills. SOL also got to meet their brand new KaBOOMbox. If you don't know what this is, just look for this amazing music producing box during our warm ups at a tournament near you! Our first night consisted of a giant bonfire, star gazing, and the viewing of a movie that inspired the line "Get that virgin!". We went to bed early due to an 8:30 am game time.

SOL v. UW-Milwaukee Black Cat

Saturday began a little slowly as we all woke up during our first game against UW-Milwaukee's Black Cat. The game was an exchange of points until the Black Cat women got away with two more points to win the game 9 over 7.

SOL v. Minnesota-Duluth Lake Effect
SOL's second game of the day was against Ohio Wesleyan Yeti. SOL started flowing and won the game 8-6. Our third game was against Duluth's Lake Effect. SOL took this one pretty quickly with a winning score of 13-1.

SOL v. North Park Allihopa
Tracie - Maniac Scorekeeper
The final game of the day was against North Park's Allihopa. SOL won their final game of the day with a score of 13-3.

SOL attended the No Wisconsequences tournament party that night for some ultimate fun. Our very own alumna Martha Harris won a Patagonia item during the raffle! Kathleen and Samara impressed some break dancers by spinning each other in the middle of their large circle. The SOL ladies also graced the tournament attendees with their 1st place Centex Dance! After the raffle and a deer-filled drive home, we slept sweet ultimate dreams.

SOL v. Iowa State Women Scorned
On Sunday, our first game started at 10am so SOL was well rested and ready to go!
This was a competitive game for the SOL ladies with a few game changing calls mixed in. The final score was SOL 10 - Women Scorned 13.

SOL v. St. Olaf Durga
The second game that day was against St. Olaf Durga. This game was also more difficult, giving the SOL rookies a taste of what's in store for the spring.

SOL ended the weekend at 3-3. A few standout plays included both Emy and Meredith getting their first callahans! Megan caught the disc in on the sideline by doing the splits to keep one foot in. The rookies learned how to work an awesome shut down zone too!!

The ride home in Beef's car was quite entertaining. It consisted of a meeting with some frisbee boys at McDonald's, a mooning to keep up the streak started at Hucktoberfest, and over 100 total cows counted! SOL takes on I-94 like none other.
