5:17 AM Car Fiasco

It was 12 am and once again, my neighbors parked me into my driveway. I frantically text Martha asking for a ride in the morning. She responded at 5:04 am, saying she will pick me up at 5:45. I hit the snooze until 5:20 and decided it was time to wake up. As of 5:17 am, Martha could not find her car keys and instructed me to devise a backup plan. At about 5:30 am, we started to frantically call our SOLmates. If we could not find rides, I would have had to leave by 5:15 in order to walk there and get there on time, due to the lack of public transportation in Eau Claire before 7 am. Moira came to our rescue. We had a ride. All was well.

This 6 am practice was awesome. Great bids, hustles, and hucks all around with our drills. We spent a vast majority of the time scrimmaging, as the newly renovated McPhee gym is the best indoor facility Eau Claire has to offer us (unfortunately we only get it early in the AM). We welcomed back Adele Christensen who was studying abroad in Spain in fall. "Bonjour Adele!" (Adele is a linguist of all sorts...Spanish, French, English)

Conditioning tonight = intense. That's the way we like it.

Good week of SOLtimate.

Skyfest Twenty-Ten

It's been a while, and I bet you are all saddened by the hiatus of the SOL blog. Fear not avid fanatic, the dry spell has ended...as I now have internet, and a job that needs time to be filled from time to time.

Highlights from SOL's winter break included....
-Marfie's 22 birfday @ 80's night at the Shout House in the Cities
-Squared's 22nd birthday
-Whit going on a cruise
-Anna deciding where she is going to get married
-Me (Robyn) getting trapped behind (one of these) while trying to rearrange Gapstur's room
-Brit commentating her little brother's basketball game
-An epic trip to Ames, Iowa (ISU)
-George getting extremely sick on a bus at 2 am
-Estelle losing her blonde-ness on MLK
-Kathleen serving on jury duty
-Jess getting lost in Door County
-Dace heading out west to San Fran and San Diego
-Emy raiding a burned down building
-Mariah's crazy grandma
All these, among other things.

With that being said and done, in addition to the plethora of items listed above, SOL worked hard over break to jump start our spring 2010 season. Last night, we officially kicked off twenty-ten with a great practice in Zorn Arena, followed by 6,048 stairs ran last night (that's 504 per person). You can double that number if you count going down too.

We're working hard to get some bank this season.

Bomb-tastic.
