So Martha and I got free dinner after practice at the caf again for the second consecutive night in a row, when we decided to actually create a blog. At the beginning of practice the conversation can be summed up like this:
Martha: "Robyn, did you see Joann's blog?"
Robyn: "Yes."
Marhta: "We should make a blog."
Robyn: "Yes."
All night during practice we discussed possible blog topics. Well, since we have yet to have written one, the possibilities became endless, like the deep blue sea.
We decided to start at the beginning. The "Sound of Music" tells me that it's a very good place to start.
This fall we started with our eyes on the prize. We want to be at nationals. Two bids for our region? Hell yes. We're shooting for it.
We recruited, played some tourneys, and got some clutch rooks. Our returners played some club and some summer league. We're ready.
Hucktoberfest: 4th Place.
It was cool.
No Wisconsequences: 1st Place.
We played really good ultimate. We drank a copious amount of energy drinks. Dominating some peeps in our pool, and playing a hard fought game to Wisconsin in our cross-over (losing 14-12). On Saturday night we attended the good ol' tourney party. Robyn received an e-mail saying that the party theme was "Recess." The team threw together some Kindergartner costumes, complete with face paint and feathers, and rolled in. Everyone staring, we knew that we had to get the party rockin. We start 4 square. Soon everyone's doing it. We start limbo. Martha wins. Robyn walks up to TD, asks where everyone else's costumes are, and proceeds to ask if everyone else got the theme e-mail. We single handedly win the most raffle prizes and a case of Red Bull that we sold for $25 to some team to do Jag-bombs. We won every game on Sunday...including the CHAMPIONSHIP game vs. Colorado.
It was cool.
Eau Claire Chillout
We split squads and battled sick nasty weather. 40 mile an hour horizontal sleet/rain and sub 30 degree temperature. Our squads took second and third. We made waaaay too much food for our tourney dinner. Way too much beans, some might say. But it sure was good the next day when it was super cold. Everyone was all "I love your beans." I was like. "Thanks."
It was cool.
Missouri Loves Company V
Saturday's pool play was a breeze. We blew by Iowa State, Colorado, and WUWU. We lost a very physical universe point game to SLULU due to a rule discrepancy...which sucked. We came back firing on Sunday with a good team win vs. Kansas, and another win vs. Truman State. We took Michigan to half in our semi-final game, but lost a little momentum and lost in universe point, 8-7. We forfeited our 3rd place game to hit up some food and get on the road.
Robyn may or may not have kicked people's asses indoors. Brit Gartner may or may not have layed out a ridiculous amount of times on the Zorn arena wood floor. Martha Harris may or may not have perfected her dance leap foot block. Anna Hettler may or may not play ambidextrously.
You can be the judge when you see us on the field.
